>>> BlackFriday Marware Sportfolio 13" MacBook Case Black
Technical Details
- Lined zippers protect against scratches
- Soft carrying handles and shoulder strap
- Rugged neoprene outer construction
The positives:
This case is very lightweight and has a nice texture to it - it feels a little like spandex over foam. I like how it has a very convenient strap that stretches a bit so it bounces when you walk and puts less shock on your shoulder. There is a stretchy pocket on the outside that can fit anything you want to shove in there.
The negatives:
The case isn't all that heavy duty. If you want it just for protection for normal usage this is ok. However it is definitely NOT a hard case - I think there is really only a piece of hard cardboard supporting the case framework. This will definitely not protect your case from a hard knock or fall.
There really is not that much space to put the charger - you have to put it in the outside stretchy pocket but this makes a rather unsightly lump and offers little protection. Forget about putting the extension cable in there with the charger.
There is an inside pocket but you can only put flat things like magazines in it without risking damage to your Mac by having too much localized pressure on it.
The inside lining is not that soft - it feels rather rough (rather like the softer side of a velcro) but it so far has not scratched up my Mac.
Finally there is a risk of the zippers scratching the Mac's exterior. When the Mac is actually inside the case there is a flap of foam that separates the computer from the zipper. However when putting the Mac into the case these flaps don't protect the computer from the zipper. The only way around this is to be careful when placing the computer in or to invert the top edges of the case when sliding the Mac in so that the zippers are covered (a hassle). The zippers truly aren't that sharp though - this is only for the really anal Mac owners to worry about.
Overall I actually like this case because it met my needs for a lightweight sleek case (except for the bulge from the charger). If you are a really paranoid Mac owner who doesn't want any scratches someone who carries a lot of stuff or someone who knocks his/her computer around this is probably not the case for you.
